As you know by now, The Curator Blog is an online platform providing smaller and upcoming streetwear brands with a place to gain exposure, share their stories, and improve their brands. Our goal is to connect them with fellow entrepreneurs and the large audience of people who enjoy finding and shopping with less known brands. There are no major forums, websites, or Instagram pages that truly promote upcoming streetwear brands which makes it hard for them to spread their names and be discovered. Our mission is to grant young and ambitious streetwear brands a place to share their story, display their products, and engage a curious audience.
We produce a small, but focused range of content to avoid traditional media practices. The Curator Blog primarily releases:
- Exclusive interviews with small and upcoming streetwear brands
- Articles on entrepreneurship and the clothing industryto point brands in the right direction and assist with their growth
- A database of upcoming brands
- A curated selection of outfits from the streetwear community featuring both big name and small upcoming brands
Awhile back I put out a call saying that I was looking for someone to interview so that I could record a test episode of The Curator Show. I wanted to fine tune the format for the interviews and get some practice in. A few people hit me up, but one of them stood out since I’ve known him for about eight years and he has some business experience. The interview was great and I actually decided to make it more than just a test run.
To kick off The Curator Blog and serve as the pilot episode of The Curator Show, I have decided decided to release the interview I did with my friend Uthman Sabir. Although he does not own a streetwear brand, he helps run his family’s cookie business which is called The No Cookie. One of the reasons I started The Curator Blog was to provide new brand owners with a place where they can learn about the business experiences that other people have had. After the conversation we had I figured the No Cookie episode I recored would be a perfect way to launch the blog.
